I am the self pro-claimed "Captain of the Cool Kids" , bringing BlackBerry tips and application recommendations to the masses. Most the information on this blog is self taught and or read upon myself for better use my Berry. I am no BlackBerry Guru, just a commen-sense user of the device, I currently own a BlackBerry 9800 Torch at&t brand, running the latest OS build. I don't get into hybrid builds as much, so if you are needing that information, I will provide links.

BB Tips for that hourglass lag....

Good day all, if you want to effectively want to clean your BlackBerry, try these tips, well make your Berry run a bit smoother -

At least weekly physically pull out your battery and leave out for at least the duration of a shower/getting ready for work/watching a movie, enough time to do a real soft reset.
But before doing that, run whatever memory cleaner you have, and or do the ALT+LGLG method, also turn off ALL connection before cleaning, as your BlackBerry is connected to a network,
just like computers, any good IT person will tell you, disconnect from the internet before running a virus scan, so do the same, turn off all connections before cleaning.

Also if you have old text messages or emails that you do not need anymore, delete them, they take up precious memory also.

Also check for updates for any apps you may have, a lot of times updating a version of an app, may decrease its use of memory on your BlackBerry device.

Also clean out your history in your browser, get in habit of actually exiting out of an APP or your browser by actually backing all the way out and or hit your bb (options) key and select exit or close.

Also when joining BBM Groups, change your settings also, if you do not want the pictures saved to your device, go to options while in that group and change the settings to NEVER save to my device or media card.

also if you have a lot of BBM buddies, get in a habit of closing chats after your done talking to that person, trust me it takes up memory and space also, and if you have a list of "pending" and that list number has not changed in about 2-3 days, start deleting the pending requests, if they have not accepted or denied by now, delete it.
