I am the self pro-claimed "Captain of the Cool Kids" , bringing BlackBerry tips and application recommendations to the masses. Most the information on this blog is self taught and or read upon myself for better use my Berry. I am no BlackBerry Guru, just a commen-sense user of the device, I currently own a BlackBerry 9800 Torch at&t brand, running the latest OS build. I don't get into hybrid builds as much, so if you are needing that information, I will provide links.

Battery Saving Tips for non-touch BlackBerrys

Battery Savings Tips:

Change your screen/keyboard options

Change your Backlight Brightness to 10

Change your Backlight Timeout to 20sec

Automatically Dim Backlight Off

LED Coverage Indicator Off

Key Tone Off

Key Rate Fast

TrackPad/Ball Horizontal/Veritical Sensitivity 60 and 60

Sound profiles - change to Phone only (unless you need the attention of your phone chirping all day)

This saves a lot of battery power

If you have a GSM phone (sim cards AT&T and T-Mobile) switch your phone to 2G (3G is always searching for a stronger data signal)

also 2G is better talk quality.

Turn wifi/bluetooh off if not using it.
